Research at Gentec has resulted in over 200 peer-reviewed publications!

At Livestock Gentec we have a world-renowned group of researchers. Our vision is to be the world leader in providing genomic solutions across the livestock value chain. Vital to achieving this goal are our researchers. Our research program focuses on improving efficiencies in livestock production, improving the quality of livestock products, improving the health of production animals while also ensuring food safety for the end consumer, and transferring the developed technologies for industry application.

In the summer of 2014 we celebrated the achievement of the 200th peer-reviewed publication since the inception of Livestock Gentec as an Alberta Ingenuity Centre in 2010.

One highlight from the list is the 2014 Daetwyler et al. paper in Nature Genetics based on The 1000 Bull Genomes project, which includes Gentec researchers Paul Stothard and Xiaoping Liao.

The cumulative four-year list of publications is a result of partnerships and collaborations with over 100 organizations and institutions. Our partnerships extend through industry, consumer groups, academia, and government. We recognize our partners in contributing to the strength and success of our program.

Congratulations to our team of researchers on this milestone achievement!
